Court read

Find the shot line

The target can move between attempts, so the useful skill is making a small correction without losing the feel of a workable launch.

Opening read

Start by centering the ball under the hoop line. Use one smooth upward swipe as a reference, then change only its length when the arc is close but too short or too long.

Shot setup

Separate angle from force

A side miss and a distance miss call for different corrections. Keeping those two signals separate makes the next attempt easier to judge.

Input note

Swipe or drag upward from the ball. The gesture controls both direction and strength; on touch, begin from the ball rather than from an empty part of the play area.

Adjustment note

Read the landing point

If the ball falls short, add a little travel to the gesture. If it sails beyond the hoop, trim the length. A miss to one side is a reason to alter the line, not to swing harder.

If the attempt slips

When the hoop changes position, re-aim first and then make a modest power change. Large angle-and-strength changes together make it difficult to tell which correction helped.

Player questions

Before the next shot

What does one swipe control?

One gesture does double duty: it aims the shot and chooses the power. Start the stroke on the ball and glide upward in one clean motion, so the release is repeatable.

How should I read a close miss?

Look at what the miss showed first. When the ball stays on line but falls short or long, keep the aim and adjust only the power; change the line only when the ball clearly drifted sideways.
